Final days in Florida - Dairy Foods

The last couple days in Florida were a blast. And we were so lucky to have perfect weather the entire week. On Saturday morning, as we were driving to the airport, it started to storm. That was the pretty much the only time we saw clouds on our trip.
There was a dock behind our rented house that led to a bay.  I hoped to see a manatee but no luck.
Joel, Lumbie, Katie, Drew and I went to Matanzas restaurant for lunch.  Joel ordered fried gator.  I didn't care for it much.

Most of the group ordered crab legs for lunch.
Later that day we grilled for dinner and ate outside, since it was such a gorgeous evening.
My older brother Ron had the brilliant idea to fry pickles using leftover beer batter we used for fish the day before.  We dipped them in ranch.  YUM.
Thursday was Lumbie's birthday so we celebrated nautical style.  We all wore red, white or blue and even wore a sailor's hat.  Yeah...we're huge dorks but it was fun.  That evening we went out to the Beached Whale and danced to a live band.  I woke up the next morning and realized that I am 31 now and not 23.  Hangovers get worse with age!
The birthday girl.
Friday evening we went to Nemo's On The Beach and then watched the sunset.

The week in Florida was wonderful.  We had great family time, awesome food, tons of sun and relaxation. I was right about the few extra pounds but that's what 7 days of fried food, pizza and lots of booze will to to ya.  It was worth it.

We came back to Minnesota on Saturday and it was 45 degrees outside.  It was freezing! Fortunately, it warmed up on Sunday but Erik and I spent the day doing chores around the house.

Happy Monday!
